Saturday Number 8 and 9

I'm behind on my posts but it's kind of fitting that these two Saturdays are together because they were each spent with a Godparent.

Saturday Number 8
You got to spend the day with Aunt Cole (your Godmother). This is huge! Godmother Cole is one of the best people God put on this Earth so spending time with her should make you feel muy importante. Aunt Cole and I met Freshman year of college and have pretty much been inseparable ever since.  There are very few people on this planet that just get me, she is one of those people (The other is Aunt Sissa, also one of the best people on Earth).

Aunt Cole flew from Winston-Salem, NC to Huntsville to drop her daughter Lily off with her grandparents then drove 6 hours to meet you. Yeah, you are a pretty big deal to her.

We gave you a bath and then we took you to lunch.  Daddy walked around with you while Aunt Cole and I chatted about how wonderful you are.
She took this picture of your Daddy and me.
I personally love this picture because you look freaked out or maybe like you smelled something funny. Either way it's hilarious.

This is one of many reasons why I love your Godmother, you can see in her eyes how much love she has for you. If something happens to your Mommy and Daddy you will live with Godmother Cole and I couldn't be happier with this decision. I don't want to die of course but knowing you are safe in this woman's arms makes me happy.
You were sitting in the back seat of the car  fast asleep with your Godmother when suddenly you woke up and just grinned ear to ear at her. I'm pretty sure this marks the day you fell in love with Godmother Cole.
Godmother Cole created this instagram of you and me. While I look like I'm missing teeth (I hate when I make this face and I make it often) it captures you so well. All smiles and sunshine.

Godmother Cole, we can't wait for another visit.

Saturday Number 9
You spent this Saturday with your Uncle Matt.  Well that's kind of not true. Uncle Matt took Daddy to a Braves game and was gone most of the day but you spent a lot of time with him in the morning.

Since you were born I have thought you had your Uncles eyes and seeing you togther only reaffirmed this feeling. Your expressiongs are all Daddy but your eyes are Uncle Matt for sure.  He loves you quite a bit. He just kept saying "look how tiny she is, I mean, where is the rest of her".  In his defense he doesn't have children and I think he thought you would greet him riding a trike in the driveway. He, like the rest of us, is learning a lot because of you.

You actually spent most of the day with your Big Dad while Mommy and Grammy went shopping for bedding for your new room. Yes, I'm fully aware you are only 8 weeks old but you will move into the bedroom across the hall when you're a big girl. (Twin beds that were mine when I was a kid)

That's right I don't have pictures of your Big Dad but I do have pictures of your new bedroom. I need to get my priorities straight.

That's a Real Baby!

Darren and I got to see our little baby this week! He/she is measuring 13 weeks and 1 day and everything looked healthy. This picture cracks me up because the baby looks like it's pouting because we woke it up.  We did though, the tech was pushing on my belly like I do when I'm trying to get into pair of jeans that are too small!  Baby Hawk wouldn't move! Enter the Kashi cereal bar.  I hadn't eaten in nearly 4 hours (the appointment was VERY long) so I ate my Kashi bar that I always keep in my purse for ultrasound emergencies. BOOM, baby Hawk was wiggling and sucking and even looked like he/she was sucking it's thumb! Yes, this is indeed my baby, I go nuts for food too! I do think the profile looks like Darren though. Darren makes this cute pouty face when he's being funny.  So, the mystery is solved, this is Darren's baby. Whew, we were wondering. I'm totally kidding people! This picture is sort of creepy to me but I must share my 3-D picture. I...

To Stella

I thought it would be fun to write a letter to you before I met you. We could read it together later and laugh about how clueless I was about you! Dear Stella, It's Christmas 2011 and I honestly haven't thought at all about the holiday this year.  All I can think about is March, when I get to meet you for the first time.  Your Dad and I went to the hospital this week to check out where you would be born! I thought for sure going to the hospital would make me anxious but instead it made me incredibly excited. What a gift it is to bring someone into the world and because of you I get to experience that.  You have no idea how much you were prayed for, wanted, hoped for, for so many years. I always knew I wanted to be a mother, even back in high school when I worked in a toy store and joked about getting my tubes tied. :-) But, when I found out about YOU I couldn't have been happier.  I remember standing in the bathroom completely convinced that I had willed ...

2012 Highlights

So I'm obviously abandoning my attempt to try to capture every Saturday in Stella's life. I now realize that's impossible. Plus, not everything in the world happens on a Saturday. It's the fun/sad/crazy moments that are the ones you want to remember right? (by sad I mean "my baby's growing up" sniff sniff)  And those usually happen on a random Tuesday or something. So I'm going to attempt in this last post of the year (and some of you may be saying "your only post this year", no I had like 7 okay...ha ha) to remember the BEST moments of my life in 2012. You may want to go pee, eat something and bring a drink back, this sucker's going to be long. Our House January 1st we moved into our house. I love our house. It is seriously a fairytale house and neighborhood where I want my babies to grow up. I have a nightmare once a month that involves us moving, I usually wake up very sad. Odd, yes. Apparently you know you're old when you...
