Saturday 10
You got shots the day before so you were a little fussy. Daddy decided the best option for our Saturday lunch would be Chik-fil-a. Once we got there I realized the magic that is Chik-fil-a. Dare I say our local disney world. The staff was friendly, we love the food, and you fell asleep in your carrier and other children raced around the restaurant screaming. There was a couple the next table over from us, they had a (maybe) 4 year-old little girl. She dropped her toy and it rolled under a booth. I watched the man sitting at the booth, along with the father of the little girl crawl under the booth and retrieve this toy that cost probably 2 cents. The man sitting in the booth handed the toy to the Dad and sat back down. All people involved acted like this was an everyday common occurance by the way. The father handed the toy back to the daughter then the mother and father told the little girl how nice it was for the man to get her toy for her and that she needed to personally thank him. She went over to the table to thank the man and I heard him say "of course sweetheart". Can I live at Chik-fil-a? What great parents! When we walked out I went over to the parents and said "I hope our little girl is as sweet as your little girl". What I should have said was "I hope our little girl's parents are as smart as you two" but I thought that would sound like I didn't know what I was doing (which I don't).
The rest of the day you were amazing as usual. We gave you a bath as we do every Saturday. It sounds very weird but we don't bathe you all the time, I'm worried about your skin so we only bathe you twice a week. It sounds gross but we do keep you clean I promise.
Saturday 11
You woke up at 7AM......you didn't wake up at all last night! That's right, you slept from 9PM until 7AM straight! You do this randomly but this is the longest stretch for sure.
We bathed you and then went to lunch at Smokejacks. The place we're going to use to cater Daddy's 40th birthday party in a few weeks. You got a little fussy and Daddy walked you around the restaurant as he always does. You then fell asleep while we ate lunch and then ran to the grocery store.
Saturday 12
Today you met your Great Grand Father for the very first time. He's 85 and you're only living great grandparent. This man was so cool to me growing up. He went to the beach with us every summer and spent every Christmas eve with us. Something about knowing he was going to be at the beach or stay at our house on Christmas eve made it super special. On Christmas eves he used to sit in the balcony at church with me so that we could see the whole church lit with candles during the singing of Oh Holy Night. This man made my childhood. Now, you met him, the man, the myth, the legend, my Big Dad. Your Big Dad has some serious shoes to fill.
Looking at this picture I think you realize how awesome he is. I put you in his arms and you immediately smiled at him. It's like in just one second you understood how amazing he is and how much he means to me. He's the man that gave me your rocking chair. That chair has a lot of history. Your great grandfather was rocked in it when he was a baby, so was your big dad, so was your mom. You see, that chair has been in our family for generations and every time I feed you I think about all the Hortons that were rocked, fed, soothed and loved in it. You come from some amazing people.
You're only crying because you had a poopy diaper but I didn't realize it at the time. Sorry, my bad.

This post makes me happy. First of all, I hope this does not sound rude, but your husband is 40! So is mine! I don't feel crazy anymore - I love my old man hubby! And how wonderful are great grandparents. Vi and Jeremy have one as well and I make them take photos with her all the time. Vi is mesmerized by her face, just like Stella!
