Cha Cha Cha Changes

I haven't posted in about a year so this sucker's going to be long! Sorry for the long update.  We've been busy.

1. The rental place. We love this place, it's fabulous! We have a queen size bed and the kitchen came fully prepared to cook (minus food of course).  Here are some pictures below.
It's pretty big and very open and bright.  Who knew we would only be here a month and a half.
2. The new house.  We found a PERFECT new house.  As everyone has told me, we found something that I love even more than the first house I blogged about forever ago. Pictures of the new house below.

This is the front door.  Notice the rocking chairs and cute table, we get those too! The family we are buying from is moving back to California, they were transfered here a year ago! Can you imagine! I feel for them.  Anyway, they can't take all of their furniture because they will be buying a smaller place.  So they've been selling various things to us, such as the aformentioned rocking chairs. :-)

This is the backyard! It's 1.4 acres which is exactly what we were looking for! It's flat too so we can put a swingset/jungle gym in later! Oh and the house came with a trampoline. Ha! You can't see it in this picture but it's off to the right.  As soon as baby girl pops out we will be on it...just kidding. It is enclosed if you happen to have kids and want to visit.

The kitchen.  See that big beautiful fridge, it also came with the house!! I love having double ovens as well.  This house really has all of my wants on my dream checklist!

Yes, that's a firpit! The people who own the house now built it.  I bought the chairs from them as well.  Darren and I are going to paint them though. I'm not much of a fan of red.  If you look past the firepit you will see the lake.  We are on a little manmade lake that's about 40 acres.  When we first went to look at the property it kind of scared me with the baby but once I realized you have to walk 1.4 acres to get to the lake I realized this wouldn't be a huge issue for baby girl.

We close on December 21st but we aren't going to move in until January 2nd since we have plans to travel to Knoxville for Christmas and then both of us are covering for everyone else we work with the following week.  I'm itching to move in and start nesting....sometimes I realize I'm a huge girl.  This only comes out briefly though. Ha!

3. A Name! We now have a name for baby girl and I can quit referring to her as such.  Stella Diane Hawkins.  Diane is my mother-in-law's middle name and I'm so happy that my little girl has a part of her in her name.  Linda (my MIL) is amazing and I definitely want she and Stella to be close. (that doesn't sound grammatically correct)

Stella is a labor of love for Darren and I. We literally didn't agree on any name that we each came up with except for this one. So we're going for it and praying we don't have any more girls in the future because this name was tough enough.  Although Darren made the comment the other day, "Don't you think Stella is alittle loud? Maybe we should give her a more toned down name."  Then he said "Well, we're alittle loud so I guess it fits."

We're not naming her rainbow! That's loud to me!

I'm waiting for the day when my post title is Stellaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!  I'm sure that will be somewhere between week 1 and 6 of her life. :-)

We can't wait to meet you Stella!

  3. So many things to say:

    1) LOVE the house. Beautiful. It looks like you have a basement. I totally can relate that we were bummed we didnt get the house we wanted but now we have one I love even more.

    2) Just beware. After the baby, if you jump on the trampoline, you will pee yourself. But thats ok!! It goes away :) Ha! Just wanted to warn you.

    3) When will you be in K-town? Do your parents still live in CH? We will be there from the 22-25.

    - looooooove the name Stella. So precious. I mean seriously adorbale.
    - I want details on any stuff you have picked out for her room!
    - Yes, please allow me to plan her first, and all, birthday parties! It's so fun(well, sort of, sometimes it's stressful and annoying. but in the end, it's totally worth it)

That's a Real Baby!

Darren and I got to see our little baby this week! He/she is measuring 13 weeks and 1 day and everything looked healthy. This picture cracks me up because the baby looks like it's pouting because we woke it up.  We did though, the tech was pushing on my belly like I do when I'm trying to get into pair of jeans that are too small!  Baby Hawk wouldn't move! Enter the Kashi cereal bar.  I hadn't eaten in nearly 4 hours (the appointment was VERY long) so I ate my Kashi bar that I always keep in my purse for ultrasound emergencies. BOOM, baby Hawk was wiggling and sucking and even looked like he/she was sucking it's thumb! Yes, this is indeed my baby, I go nuts for food too! I do think the profile looks like Darren though. Darren makes this cute pouty face when he's being funny.  So, the mystery is solved, this is Darren's baby. Whew, we were wondering. I'm totally kidding people! This picture is sort of creepy to me but I must share my 3-D picture. I...

To Stella

I thought it would be fun to write a letter to you before I met you. We could read it together later and laugh about how clueless I was about you! Dear Stella, It's Christmas 2011 and I honestly haven't thought at all about the holiday this year.  All I can think about is March, when I get to meet you for the first time.  Your Dad and I went to the hospital this week to check out where you would be born! I thought for sure going to the hospital would make me anxious but instead it made me incredibly excited. What a gift it is to bring someone into the world and because of you I get to experience that.  You have no idea how much you were prayed for, wanted, hoped for, for so many years. I always knew I wanted to be a mother, even back in high school when I worked in a toy store and joked about getting my tubes tied. :-) But, when I found out about YOU I couldn't have been happier.  I remember standing in the bathroom completely convinced that I had willed ...

2012 Highlights

So I'm obviously abandoning my attempt to try to capture every Saturday in Stella's life. I now realize that's impossible. Plus, not everything in the world happens on a Saturday. It's the fun/sad/crazy moments that are the ones you want to remember right? (by sad I mean "my baby's growing up" sniff sniff)  And those usually happen on a random Tuesday or something. So I'm going to attempt in this last post of the year (and some of you may be saying "your only post this year", no I had like 7 okay...ha ha) to remember the BEST moments of my life in 2012. You may want to go pee, eat something and bring a drink back, this sucker's going to be long. Our House January 1st we moved into our house. I love our house. It is seriously a fairytale house and neighborhood where I want my babies to grow up. I have a nightmare once a month that involves us moving, I usually wake up very sad. Odd, yes. Apparently you know you're old when you...
