Saturday Number 7

Today we went to eat Mexican food and you started to cry. This is a new thing with you. You used to sleep through restaurant trips but now you want some attention. You're still pretty amazing but Daddy and I have to take turns walking around with you. We have learned to eat fast and to tag team in the walking department. I eat, he walks you, then he eats and I walk you.  Although it seems like you usually fall asleep after he walks you so I keep getting out of my end which is kind of great but I know this won't last. When we got home you pooped through your clothes so we decided we should also bathe you. I need to get a photo of you in the bath because it's so cute. You sort of smile but mainly look very apprehensive, like you're worried someones going to dunk you or something. After your bath you were so happy hanging with the fan. You also decided to skip your 9PM feeding and slept all the way until 4AM!

Stella's Smile

Stella started smiling last week. I think she actually started the week before but I kept telling myself it wasn't real, plus it wasn't as consistent as it is now.  She's smiling at the ceiling fan of course. I did get her to smile at me but not as consistently as the fan. It's like that damn fan gave birth to her or something. Again, for the ceiling fan. We also got her a floor gym and she LOVES it! Darren and I hate the music but it's a small price to pay for a happy baby. It sounds like Jamaican music mixed with old Milli Vanilli instrumentals.  Darren and I keep making jokes that she's going to ask where the swim up bar is.  And of course someone's going to show up at our house and ask if we want our hair braided. There's also a trippy light show with the music that Stella loves. She is mesmorized by it. Who knew something so simple would captivate her.  The floor gym also gets a lot of smiles.  Mom and Dad, not so much. I guess this is a...

Sweatin' to the Oldies

Don't worry I didn't go buy Richard Simmon's Sweatin' to the Oldies. What I did do is rediscover my own collection of workout DVDs. I have a pretty wide selection of pilates, yoga, ball and yes, even strip tease workouts (I regret buying these as much as Carmen Electra regrets her hand tattoos with her ex-husband's name).  There is one set of DVDs that I have loved for quite some time and I decided to get back into them this week. Jillian Michaels. Seriously, she kicks your butt in any DVD (I own 3).  I used to do them so much I knew exactly what she was going to say and each move coming up.  That was before I got pregnant of course. Since I received the all clear from my doctor at my 6 week checkup I decided to plunge back into the Jillian Michaels world of getting my ass kicked. And let me just say, she has royally done just that. I decided to start out with an all in one DVD. I can't find my hand weights since we moved so I went for the only DVD that didn...

Mother's Day Commercials

Is it just me or are Mother's Day commercials this year particularly heartwarming. Publix I love this grocery store but the commercials are my favorite. This year's is no exception. P&G I love Pampers as I mentioned before, I also love Tide. :-) I love how they weave the products in BUT it's so emotional and so true. JC Penny This is actually old but I found it on YouTube I had to include it since most of us are young Moms. (Young fits anyone under the age of 60 by the way) :-) If you aren't crying you are dead inside.

Saturday Number 6

Your Nana and Papa Chicho were in town and kept you while Daddy and I went to lunch. We spent the lunch talking about you and how much we love you. Darren actually said he wished for another girl just like you. You have captured our hearts for sure. I was trying not to talk about you when we first got the restaurant, we needed to talk about us instead of you all the time is what I thought, I thought I would drive your Dad nuts with all my Stella talk.  When we sat down we ordered drinks, your father ordered a Stella and then pulled out his phone to show the waiter "his Stella". Well obviously I was wrong. We then talked about how we would slowly dismember anyone who touched you. HA! We got home and you had been so good for your Nana.  She is so excited to be a part of your life. All of us are. We feel so blessed that your are in all of our lives. I always thought having children would be hard on my marriage (I know I'm selfish for mentioning this).  You my dear h...

In-Laws and The Daycare Dilemma

Darren's parents came for a week. How amazing are these people. They cooked, fixed things and kept Stella! Seriously parents rule! Darren's Mom and Step Dad live in California so they weren't able to be here when Stella was born. They were sweet enough to wait a few weeks so that we could get used to our new schedule. This is when they first held Stella. As you can see, they are in love with her like we are. Chich (pronounced Cheech, he's Ecuadorean), Darren's Step Dad, is an amazing painter (he's an eye doctor but happens to do a lot of great home repairs too!). When the people moved out of our house in December they left several nicks and holes in the wall from paintings and wall hangings. Chich went around the house mixing paints and finding the right colors and patched almost every room in some way! My house looks amazing.  He also made steak carne asada one night that was out of this world. I almost ate Darren's since he was eating so slowly....
